Hi Readers,

It's interesting how people mature over time. Like as a little kid, all you do is want want want, and all you want is instant gratification. Whereas as I get older, I find myself thinking a lot about how to live life and to be happy, and how to be content about the world around you. Like the mature side of me is all about working for my achievements, not being jealous, being the best person I want to be. On the other side, there's this annoying immature Anita who just wants to ragequit, always be right, or like be angry, lazy, whatever. I think maybe as you get mature, you can tame your immature side and keep it nice and quiet and reason to it.

Then again, it's a pretty shietty feeling to always be wrong or always be inferior. Like you can murder your own ego/confidence at the expense of...well your confidence. Sucks motivation. I still don't really know how to deal with that.

I dunno. In the past few years, a lot of things have changed. My friend groups have changed, some of my hobbies have changed...I guess it makes me appreciate how things you value in life might be more of instances that you may just be so lucky to happen upon. And it all can disappear or change within a short amount of time, so I'm thankful for what I've had and what I have. I feel like I have more reason to live for now that I did a few years ago. Awhile back I was just waiting for my life to begin, waiting for middle and high school to end so I could find somewhere where I really belonged, and I think moving here and meeting the people I've met really have let me find myself and happiness. I have to say, I am lucky, and I am happy. Especially happy for the people I know, and my family, and the house I'm living in.

Then again, I wonder if I'll ever revisit my old dreams and aspects of my older life.

Mostly I want to share some of these quotes.  I think I first saw them at dance class, and I think a lot of them resonate with a lot of wisdom and reasoning. I think to be a better person, I'm going to read these everyday and reflect on them.

Another quote I came upon which I thought was pretty cool was

"Think of the Earth as a living organism that is bing attacked by billions of bacteria whose numbers double every forty years. Either the host dies, or the virus dies, or both die." -Gore Vidal

The stupid blog setting won't let me post more text below the big grey block below, so I'll probably just leave this post for now. Till next time~ =D

Dalai Lama..how has he managed
to accumulate so much wisdom in one lifetime?

Dalai Lama's Instructions for Life:
  1. Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
  2. When you lose, don’t lose the lesson.
  3. Follow the three R’s:
    -  Respect for self,
    -  Respect for others and
    -  Responsibility for all your actions.
  4. Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.
  5. Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly.
  6. Don’t let a little dispute injure a great relationship.
  7. When you realize you’ve made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
  8. Spend some time alone every day.
  9. Open your arms to change, but don’t let go of your values.
  10. Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
  11. Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and
think back, you’ll be able to enjoy it a second time.
  12. A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.
  13. In disagreements with loved ones, deal only with the current situation. Don’t bring up the past.
  14. Share your knowledge. It is a way to achieve immortality.
  15. Be gentle with the earth.
  16. Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before.
  17. Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.
  18. Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.
  19. If you want others to be happy, practice compassion.
  20. If you want to be happy, practice compassion
